Thanksgiving

So here is a few thoughts about what Thanksgiving used to be and what it is now.
  THEN
  • In 1620 a ship with 100 people on landed in the Massachusetts Bay
  • Only half of the original passengers survived
  • An Indian came and taught the people how to grow food
  • By the fall they harvested their crop, thanked God and ate.
  • Thanksgiving wasn't a national holiday till 1863 when Lincoln scheduled Thanksgiving to be the last Thursday in November
Then it started to change...
  • In 1939 Franklin D. Roosevelt moved Thanksgiving up a week to spur retail sales, BUT people then were outraged! So it got moved back.
TODAY!
  • Starting the day after Halloween, Christmas crap starts to come out
  • On Thanksgiving day, people stuff themselves till they puke while planing their shopping trip for late that night.
  • Stores try and outdo each other by opening earlier and staying open longer
  • People trample each other trying to get the best deal
here is a recap
THEN

NOW...

HAPPY STUFFING YOUR FACE SALE DAY!!!
